In the heart of the Terre Alfieri, where the hills of Roero, Monferrato, and Langhe meet, Tenuta La Pergola is the guardian of a winemaking tradition that has been handed down for over a century.
Here, the history of a family becomes the history of a territory, and every glass tells a story of passion, dedication, and the pursuit of innovation.
Founded in 1903, the winery came to life thanks to the vision and determination of Grandfather Tony. Since then, four generations of the Bodda family have cultivated the land with love and respect, each bringing their own unique contribution.
Since 2001, Alessandra has been running the company with sensitivity and courage. In recent years, her children have also joined the business, bringing new ideas and a fresh vision, ready to interpret contemporary tastes without ever losing touch with their family roots.
The Terre Alfieri is a picturesque hilly area located between the provinces of Asti and Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont, a few kilometers from Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato. This territory takes its name from the famous poet and playwright Vittorio Alfieri, born in Asti in 1749, and represents one of the most authentic and least touristy areas of Piedmont, where history, culture, and nature intertwine harmoniously.
Inhabited since Roman times and subsequently contested by noble families in the Middle Ages, the Terre Alfieri still preserve a rich heritage of medieval castles, Romanesque churches, and stone villages, perched on hills and surrounded by vineyards and woods. Viticulture is one of the souls of this territory: Terre Alfieri DOCG, a prestigious designation recognized in 2020, was born here, protecting two great Piedmontese grape varieties, Nebbiolo and Arneis.
In addition to wine, Terre Alfieri offers a cuisine rich in rural traditions, with typical dishes such as bunet, Nebbiolo braised beef, agnolotti del plin, and numerous local seasonal products such as mushrooms, white truffles, and hazelnuts. It is also an ideal destination for lovers of slow tourism, scenic walks in the hills, and small villages rich in history, such as San Damiano d’Asti, Cisterna d’Asti, Antignano, and Tigliole.
Authenticity, ancient flavors, and breathtaking views make Terre Alfieri a destination waiting to be discovered, perfect for those seeking a more intimate and genuine Piedmont.
