Tenuta la Pergola

We give voice
to the hills.

Terre Alfieri

The production area of Doc Terre Alfieri, includes the entire territory of the municipalities of Antignano, Celle Enomondo, Cisterna d’Asti, Revigliasco, San Damiano, San Martino Alfieri and Tigliole, in the province of Asti, and part of the municipalities of Castellinaldo, Govone, Magliano Alfieri and Priocca, in the province of Cuneo. Present since time immemorial in the area’s vineyards in small quantities, it has been preserved from disappearance thanks to the stubbornness and intelligence of winemakers who have given new generations a piece of local history, where vineyards planted to Arneis have risen again in highly vocated territory. It is produced in the types Arnes , also with the addition of the designation “Vigna.”

The Monferrato

Its territory, almost exclusively hilly in nature, lies mainly within the provinces of Alessandria and Asti and extends southward from the hydrographic right of the Po River to the foothills of the Ligurian Apennines on the border with the Province of Genoa and the Province of Savona.

Roero

Roero (Roè in Piedmontese) is located in the northeastern part of the province of Cuneo. It takes its name from the family of the same name-that is, the Roero family-that has dominated this territory since the medieval period and for several centuries.

The Langhe

The Langhe is a historic region of Piedmont located straddling the provinces of Cuneo and Asti, bordering other historic regions of Piedmont, namely Monferrato and Roero, and consisting of an extensive hill system defined by the course of the Tanaro, Belbo, Bormida di Millesimo and Bormida di Spigno rivers.

An Ancient History

Located in Cisterna d’Asti, near Alba, it is at the junction of three generous territories: Monferrato, Langhe and Roero, which have always been the three most prestigious wine areas in Piedmont such that they are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Therefore, its strategic importance is ancient history.

The town’s castle was founded as a fortress in the Middle Ages, then mellowed into an elegant residence, and today it dominates the vineyards like an attentive guardian, almost as if to guard and protect their grapes and those who with love and wisdom transform them into precious wines.

It makes a fine backdrop for the Arts and Crafts Museum of yesteryear if not the aristocratic residence itself, in whose rooms and cellars 17th-century farming equipment has served to recreate ancient artisan workshops.

Culture and tradition still make history in Cisterna d’Asti: it is no coincidence that the wines of La Pergola Estate are born here.
